Tip Tuesday: Build Anticipation & Follow Through

13

One of biggest mistakes we see with businesses’ marketing campaigns is a lack of consistent anticipation and follow through.

What do we mean by this? It’s simple: when marketing a service or a promotion, most businesses make the mistake in believing that their followers will naturally be hyped on what they’re offering. Not so! If you want to attract that kind of energy to your marketing campaigns you have to put it out there yourself!

Let’s say you run a car wash, and to celebrate hitting 1000 followers online you released an promotional slogan that, when said at the till, would earn your customers 50% off a car wash service. Most businesses would release the slogan once and then be done with it… But that’s not the right way to build a marketing campaign!

While the “one-and-done” promotion might earn you a few extra visits, the proper way to execute a promotion is to start by building anticipation– maybe tease the deal a few days early with posts like “Stay Tuned for a Deal” or “Something Exciting Coming Soon…” to keep your followers intrigued and checking your posts. This keeps up site traffic and gets your followers looking at your page more often!

Once you do release the promotion, really hit it home– post it multiple times a day, everyday. And make sure when your customers come in for that service that you truly give them a one of a kind experience. That way, they’ll keep coming back for more even without a current deal on!

That’s it for now, stay tuned for another tip next Tuesday!

Friday Update!

Friday already– woohoo!

giphy (2)

This week felt like a major calm before the storm. We’ve been spending the last few days getting ready for our event with YEG Boss Babes next week where we’re going to be speaking about social media management and preventing burn out. We’re super excited to meet so many local entrepreneurs and girl bosses who are all about making their own dreams come true!

While we’ve been busy getting for that there’s been little time for thoughts about anything else. Here’s hoping the event goes well and we have something exciting to talk about next week!

Tip Tuesday: Partner with Targeted Influencers

Whether you’re an influencer or a business there’s something to be said for working together! Did you know that partnering with other people for marketing campaigns can more than double your amount of exposure?

They say two heads are better than one! By reaching out to each other, businesses and bloggers can benefit but sharing an audience to promote a product. Let’s say you’re a hairstylist promoing a deal on a blow out. By teaming up with a beauty blogger, you can create a unique and fun marketing campaign that engages not only fans of your business, but followers on her blog. Both of you get tons of exposure and your followers are more likely to purchase a product with a promising testimonial! Win-win.

If you’re ever interested in teaming up, be sure to call Copper Social Co. first! We have a whole network of awesome bloggers always on the lookout for new and exciting opportunities to work with you.

That’s all for now! See you next week!

Friday Update!

Another week come and gone. And boy, was it a rough one. February began with a nasty flu ripping through our office that left most of us stuck in bed or with a sure throat and unable to speak.

Stressful. Very stressful.

Talk about a major set back– it’s hard to convince people to work with you when you can barely get a word out! On the bright side it seems like most of us are on the other side of it. Hopefully by Monday we’ll be back in fighting shape!

Lots of fun and exciting things in the works in the next month or so– our founder Lisa Hennig is speaking at a YEG Boss Babes event on the 23rd giving a talk about creating manageable social media marketing campaigns. Should be a can’t-miss event!

Friday Update!

Well, it’s officially been one week since Copper Social Co. has gotten going and there’s already so many exciting things happening!

This week was definitely one of growth. Woke up one day to dozens of messages in our inbox from business students looking to intern with us this summer. The whole thing is pretty surreal considering less than a year ago we were students ourselves! All in all we have to say it was the single most validating thing to have happen– knowing that people are so excited about what we’re doing that they already want to join us!

This weekend we’re going to be doing some work with our real estate clients (let’s get real, it’s all an excuse to see some open houses and be a little nosy) and then we’re going to sit down and enjoy the Super Bowl (and all the opportunities for snacking that come with it!) Have a great weekend everyone!

Introducing Copper Social Co!

Well, it’s the official launch date of Copper Social Co!

giphy (1)

To be frank, it’s been one hell of a ride. The last year and a half of running Bankrupt Beauty Blog has been absolutely out of this world. I’ve made so many friends in this wonderful little community, but I’m excited to try to make a living doing what I love most about this industry: creating relationships between influencers and brands.

Copper Social Co. is founded on the idea of building up small businesses and online creatives by working together to engage with our followers. I’m so beyond excited to take this plunge with all of you, let’s make something awesome together!

Here’s to starting something new. Can’t wait to see where this takes me!

2018: Goals & Resolutions

With a new year upon us, I’ve been taking some time to reflect on what 2017 left me with and where I want to go in the coming 12 months.

2017 was a weird year, guys. I ended a 5 year relationship, graduated from University, lived without phone service/internet/basic technology for 4 months, and had my friends group spread out and separate across the country. A lot happened. And even though it didn’t feel right at the time, all this shit led to some positive changes in my life.

giphy (11)

So while I’m still riding this #NewYearNewMe vibe, I’m going to share some of my goals and resolutions for 2018.

Drink More Water

giphy (15).gif

This is such a lame goal but probably one of the most important I can think of. I’m garbage at remembering to drink enough water– most of my fluids are ingested through cups of tea and the milk at the bottom of my cereal bowl. In 2018 I want to get better about drinking water, even if that means the additional trips to the bathroom each day.

Make Travel and Exploration a Priority

giphy (16).gif

I’ve been a big home-body for most of my life, and 2017 was the first time I went on a solo adventure. In 2018 I want to do more of that– not necessarily alone, but I definitely want to put myself in more situations that warrant me relying on myself and putting myself out there in the world.

Spend More Time Outside

My current job pretty much demands that I spend 4 hours a day glued to my laptop, but after spending the summer cut off from technology I was surprised but how much I enjoyed unplugging. I really want to spend more time outside and away from my desk in 2018.

Become a Morning Person

giphy (17).gif

My days usually don’t start until 9 or so, which means they usually end around 1 in the morning. I really hate that I miss a lot of my favorite morning yoga classes because of my sleep schedule, and that I miss out on family time in the morning– when I was growing up in school I would always wake up early and visit with my parents while we ate breakfast. In 2018 I want to get back to a healthier sleep schedule, especially one that doesn’t involve me blogging until the early hours of the morning.

Embrace Change

giphy (63)

2017 was definitely the year my life fell apart. As a person who hates change, this was especially hard to cope with. One of my proudest moments of the year was realizing that I had the ability to handle whatever life chose to throw at me– and even more, realizing that I kind of thrive in the madness that is an upturned life.

By far my biggest resolution in 2018 is to maintain this attitude towards change, and to use moments of uncertainty and wobbliness to improve myself as a person.

God, Oprah should interview me. She would love all this self-improvement shit.

What do you think, Broke Babes? Love it? Hate it? Want to share your own resolutions?
